One week from today I’ll be hopping on a train here in Richmond and traveling up to New York City for Book Expo America. The BEA Bloggers Conference takes place on May 28th and the convention itself runs from the 29th-31st. Am I excited?
People Are Real, You Guys
Hands down, the thing that I’m most excited about is meeting the people behind all these blog posts and tweets. I don’t know if there’s anything better (or slightly more terrifying?) than making the internet come to life for a few days.
New York City
I’ve been to pretty much every major city on the East Coast except New York City, which means this trip is long overdue. There are so many places in New York I’m dying to visit, which likely won’t all happen this trip, but will hopefully encourage a few more follow up jaunts to NYC.
No, not subways. Been there, done that. But I’ve never been on a train-train. It’s weird. I haven’t lived on the East Coast all that long. But I’m really thrilled about the thought of six non-flight hours in a quiet car with just me, my book and my laptop.
Okay, fine. Books.
It’s what all of this is about, right? I would be lying if I said I didn’t have a list of some highly anticipated titles that I’m really hoping to grab. Plus, there are a few authors that I can’t wait to embarrass myself in front of (here’s lookin’ at you, Meg Wolitzer!).
If you’re headed to BEA, let me know so we can awkwardly meet! But if you’re not, make sure to join up with Armchair BEA – it’s the BEAs knees…I’m walking away now.
