no country kalyan ray the ways of the dead

It’s Monday June 9th, What Are You Reading?

fall reading no country kalyan rayI definitely got back into a reading groove this past week. I did finish the books I started last week, but not long after I posted what I was reading, No Country by Kalyan Ray hit my mailbox and I couldn’t resist starting (and finishing!) it. I also read Twee by Marc Spitz and That Night by Chevy Stevens. This week I’m getting started with Lydia Netzer’s How to Tell Toledo from the Night Sky and The Ways of the Dead by Neely Tucker. Quite the wonderful variety!

It’s Monday, What Are You Reading?

  • These covers look so fantastic together. I really want to read Twee. Did you enjoy it?

    • I did! Even though I know quite a bit about the modern scene, it goes back to post-WWII and traces all pop culture through to today…it’s really interesting.

  • That is an excellent variety! I’ve got four or five books on the go, and it’s gotten to be a little much — I need to stop starting books and start finishing them!

  • Am loving the cover of No Country – LOVE! I read That Night, but thought it fell short of Stevens other novels. By the by, just wanted to let you know that I love the books you mention – they automatically go on my TBR list :)

  • I saw last week you were reading Cutting Teeth? I reviewed it a few weeks ago…interested to hear your thoughts on it.

  • I LOVE the covers of the books you’re reading this week! I’m still reading Mr Mercedes by Stephen King this week, I just kind of dropped everything I was doing to read it. Hope you enjoy your current reads!

The books you are reading look interesting! I cant wait to hear your thoughts on them.

  • The Gate of Angels by Penelope Fitzgerald. It’s not the sort of title I associate with her, which is making more even more intrigued about it’s contents.

  • Erin’s Inside Job

I have been reading Homicide because after I read your post about books similar to The Wire I made sure to go out and buy it! Good read :)

  • Great selections!

    Read on!

  • That is a wonderful variety! I hope you have another fantastic reading groove week.

  • While most of the books on your stack are new to me, I did read and really enjoy That Night. I hope you do too. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  • I haven’t heard of any of these, I’ll look into them further! I got my reading groove back this week too after a terrible spring :) Have a great week!

You are on a roll with your reading! Every cover is beautiful. Happy Monday!

Wow, what a group of books! Now that summer if free for me, I’m hoping to have some amazing reading posts with lists of books! (But I almost know not to wish too hard…something always comes up.) I’m reading The Things They Carried now, for my TBR challenge.

  • Such pretty covers! I’m excited to hear about all of them, especially Twee. I just love that title. It’s so cute. Hee hee.

  • God, I wish my reading wasn’t sucking right now. Great books but little motivation. Going to lunch RIGHT NOW to try to get my motivation back.

  • Wendi Lee

Ooh, Twee. Adding that to my Goodreads list. Happy reading.

    Here’s my list this week:

Love the covers and your arrangement of the titles. How did you do the arranging please?

I read That Night…I didn’t think it became interesting until after 200 pages. It didn’t seem as suspenseful until then.

    What did you think?

    Have a wonderful reading week.
