song of the shank what is visible

It’s Monday June 16th, What Are You Reading?

I mentioned it a bit in my last mini review post, but June has been rolling pretty great for me so far. Not only have I already made it through quite a few books, but most of them have been pretty wonderful reads. After finishing what I had started in last Monday’s post, I also dove into What Is Visible by Kimberly Elkins and The Fever by Megan Abbott. Now I’m moving onto two books that I’ve been eyeing for a long time, Jeffery Renard Allen’s Song of the Shank and Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng.

Everything I Never Told You looks very good. I hope you will enjoy it!

I haven’t picked up anything except children’s fiction lately that has really wowed me. Thanks for sharing these.

  • I have Everything I never Told You on my TBR list – it sounds amazing! Today I’m reading Stephen King’s latest, Mr. Mercedes and loving it! I wanted something fun and thought it would be the perfect way to kick off my summer reading :)

  • These are all new to me. I hope you enjoy them. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

I have the Fever and Song of the Shank on my list as well–looking forward to seeing what you think of both. I’m midway through Nick Harkaway’s newest, Tigerman, and then hoping to visit some July books later this week and get/stay ahead of the curve!

  • Quixotic Magpie

I went on a Megan Abbott reading binge for a minute there, and somehow missed this one. Lol. I definitely want to read it!

  • Lindsey Stefan

I haven’t heard of either of the books you have coming up this week. I will have to check them out. I hope your awesome reading streak continues!

I’m number 2 on the library hold queue for Everything I never told you. Just waiting for them to actually get the book into the library!

  • Holy cow, What Is Visible has a crazy creepy awesome cover!!
And ummm… what is Song of the Shank about?! I see a piano! *running off to Goodreads*

What GREAT covers on all books.

I especially like the one for Everything I Never Told You. The birdcage dress on What is Visible is pretty neat.

I don’t know any of these books. I hope you enjoy them.

    Have a great reading week.

  • That’s a nice selection of books, I’ve only read The Fever (which is awesome) but I hope you enjoy them all.

  • Ooh, those all look interesting! I think of all the blogs I follow your tastes are most similar to mine and I always end up adding things to my want-to-read list!

I am currently reading The Hurricane Sisters by Dorothea Benton Frank!

    • That’s great to hear!
I’ve heard good things about The Hurricane Sisters – hope it ends up being a good read for you :)

  • LOOK AT YOU with more YA! The Fever does look pretty creepy/groovy.

  • Vasilly

Everything I Never Told You is on my tbr list too. Happy reading.

  • I read Everything I Never Told You late last month, and I’ve just started The Fever today

    Have a great reading week,

  • All beautiful covers this week! Looks like a lot of great reading matter for you. :)

Loved Everything I Never Told You and What is Visible. So good. Celeste Ng and I went to the same high school, actually, though too far apart to know each other. I’m reading The Iliad and The Arsonist, and Tolkien’s translation of Beowulf is coming up after that.
