It’s Monday October 13th, What Are You Reading?

I can’t complain about Monday too much when I’m coming out of an amazing reading weekend that has me pretty jazzed about several books. I finally wrapped up my long read of A Brief History of Seven Killings yesterday and finished up what I started last week, which freed me up to pick up a few new books. I absolutely devoured Katha Pollitt’s Pro on Friday and Saturday, with a furiously scribbling pencil in hand. Now I’m in the middle of Simon Rich’s Spoiled Brats and just picked up Anthony Breznican’s Brutal Youth.

I’m really hoping I can finish both books up by Friday so I can start with a clan slate Saturday morning for Dewey’s 24-Hour Readathon. If you haven’t signed up, there’s still time!

It’s Monday, What Are You Reading?

  • The Goldfinch by Tartt. i’ve heard so many wonderful and amazing things about it. I’m 150 pages in, and well, it’s decent. I’m hoping it gets better since I still have over 500 pgs to go

    • That was one of my favorite books from last year, but I know some people had a hard time with it. I hope it picks up for you!

  • Books on the Table

I am looking forward to reading all of those — especially Brutal Youth. There’s nothing I like better than a good prep school novel that’s NOT YA. Can’t wait to hear what you think.

  • Laura Pol

I love good reading weekends! I had one of those myself! Oooo a 24-Hour Readathon! I haven’t participated in one before! Hope you get lots of reading done this week so you can start with a clean slate this weekend! :)

Here’s my Monday if you want to check it out!

  • I’m dying to hear about Spoiled Brats…it’s on my TBR and sounds intriguing! I could not get an ARC, so am going to buy it if it’s good.

  • Silver’s Reviews

Wow….you did have a “book” weekend. Sounds wonderful.

I don’t know any of these books, but they sound very good.

Thanks for sharing, and enjoy this upcoming week.

  • Kerry M

Pro sounds wonderful, and right up my current reading alley (and I hadn’t heard of it, which makes it even more fun!). Here’s to a clean slate for Saturday…

  • Lindsey Stefan

Hooray for good reading weeks! I always try to have a clean slate to start the Readathon, but we will see how it goes!

    • It’s definitely much nicer to pick up brand new books that morning, so I’m hoping it will work out that way!

  • All three of these sound fantastic, especially Pro!

  • I need to read Pro! And Spoiled Brats. And basically all the books.
