It’s Monday November 17th, What Are You Reading?

mondayAfter a super busy week, I spent a great weekend bundled up and hiding out from the cold with the #24in48 Readathon and was able to get a ton of reading done. But the best part is that I have a few new favorites for the year: Euphoria by Lily King and On Immunity by Eula Biss. I totally understand why they’ve been getting so much attention. Now I’m jumping back into Nonfiction November with Leora Tenenbaum’s I Am Not a Slut and Marilyn Johnson’s Lives in Ruins. It was nice to take a little break with a novel or two over the weekend, but I’m excited to wrap up the month with some nonfiction titles I’ve been really looking forward to.

If you missed it last week, the Book Blogger Top Picks Semifinalists are up and voting is open until November 22nd!

It’s Monday, What Are You Reading?

  • Enjoy your upcoming nonfiction reads!

  • I’ve heard great things about Euphoria and have been seeing it on various “Best of” lists…will have to check that out. Glad you enjoyed the readathon! One of these days, I will participate in one…will have to be when the kids get a little more self sufficient!

  • Great to hear about your reading weekend going well.

Lives In Ruins has been catching my attention.

ENJOY your reading week. Going to check out the Book Blogger Top Picks.

My It’s Monday, What Are You Reading

  • I hope you enjoy Lives in Ruins! I am so excited for I Am Not a Slut; I don’t think I’m going to be able to wait until the month before publication to read it.

    • Yeah, I usually wait a little closer but it seemed like it would be a good read for this month and it was calling to me :)

  • Laurel-Rain Snow

I am curious about I Am Not a Slut….enjoy the new week, and thanks for sharing. Here are

  • Mystica

    Nice reads.

  • Ti Reed

I’ve got too many books going right now and the one that I am trying to read slowly, for the sake of a read along, is the one I want to read most, Revival. All the others are good but they are not doing it for me and I truly want to ditch them but in each one. I’ve read so many pages that I feel I must finish them.

  • I want to read both of these but I have no idea when they will make it into my hands. So many books I want, so little time. I feel like these are fighting their way to the top though.

  • Wesley

I was reading “Are you there God, it’s me Margaret”. First time reading it at 29! (It’s for an upcoming theme month). Made me thankful to not be a preteen or teen anymore!

  • It’s Monday and I’m reading two new Princeton University Press books by Jack Zipes — one’s a new translation of the original Grimm stories, and one’s a book of essays about the Grimms and their legacies. Really really interesting.

  • AnnabelSmith

I’m still working through Jonathan dee’s backlist & finally got my hands on St Famous – fantastic. Next up The Miniaturist.

  • I keep seeing On Immunity talked about everywhere! So I guess I had better keep my eyes out for it. I’m kind of jealous of your cold weather – such a great excuse to hide out at home and read.
