Well, this weekend started out nice and relaxing, but ended up a little frazzled. My grandmother passed away over the weekend, so I’m heading back to Michigan for a few days this evening. I’m really glad I get to see my family, but just wish it was under different circumstances. I also woke up to some pretty horrifying news of the mass shooting in Kalamazoo, which is where I went to college. I still have friends in the area and it’s always a little scary when things like that happen so close to home.
On the plus side, my reading has taken an upward swing thanks to Belinda McKeon’s Tender and While the City Slept by Eli Sanders. I’m now in the middle of We Love You, Charlie Freeman by Kaitlyn Greenidge, which seems like another winner, and hoping to get to Oreo by Fran Ross and Mo Daviau’s Every Anxious Wave while I’m traveling.
