Monday Reading

It’s Monday, February 22nd. What Are You Reading?

Monday Reading

Well, this weekend started out nice and relaxing, but ended up a little frazzled. My grandmother passed away over the weekend, so I’m heading back to Michigan for a few days this evening. I’m really glad I get to see my family, but just wish it was under different circumstances. I also woke up to some pretty horrifying news of the mass shooting in Kalamazoo, which is where I went to college. I still have friends in the area and it’s always a little scary when things like that happen so close to home.

On the plus side, my reading has taken an upward swing thanks to Belinda McKeon’s Tender and While the City Slept by Eli Sanders. I’m now in the middle of We Love You, Charlie Freeman by Kaitlyn Greenidge, which seems like another winner, and hoping to get to Oreo by Fran Ross and Mo Daviau’s Every Anxious Wave while I’m traveling.

It’s Monday, What Are You Reading?

  • I’m so sorry to hear about your grandmother. That’s tough. And – I’m 7% away from finishing Tender…wow. And, your review didn’t end up ruining things for me at all :) I sampled While the City Slept awhile back, but didn’t end up buying it (it was my state of mind, not the book), but am keeping it on the radar.

  • Sorry to hear about your grandmother, Shannon. And, scary to hear about the shootings in Kalamazoo, especially when it’s a place you know well.
    Safe trip home!
