It’s Monday, April 18th. What Are You Reading?

Dear Fang Tuesday Nights

After last weekend’s paint-filled madness, it was pretty nice to have a little more downtime over the last few days. While my husband was off camping in the mountains, I snuggled up with the pup to finish my Mad Men binge and get some reading in. I suppose I do need to enjoy weekends like this while I have them, since I just registered for my Fall classes and started the prerequisite stats class I have to take over the summer.

I’m still working my way through The Gunning of America, which is pretty long and packed with information, so I imagine it will still be here for some time. Between bits of that, I started and finished Tuesday Nights in 1980 by Molly Prentiss, which I have some mixed feelings about, though I really loved the writing. And now I’m moving on to Rufi Thorpe’s Dear Fang, With Love just before getting to my Readathon pile this weekend!

It’s Monday, What Are You Reading?

  • I’ve seen a few mixed thoughts on Tuesday Nights, so I’m interested to see your take on it. Dear Fang looks good, too.

  • The room looks great, and I love the new light!
I finished reading ‘boobs’ (Ruth Daniell) a couple of days ago, and now I’m working on ‘Lab Girl’. I can recommend both!

  • Oooh – I’m so interested to hear your thoughts on Tuesday Nights. I’d moved it up my list after Catherine loved it, but was a little skittish b/c I’m decidedly NOT an art person! Good luck with your stats class – I love seeing interesting stats, but was always terrible at actually doing the stats in school!!

    • I think it’s definitely possible to like Tuesday Nights even if you’re not into art. I loved the writing, but was being nitpicky about a few things in the story.

  • Tuesday Nights is on my radar and Dear Fang looks interesting!

  • JoAnn @ Lakeside Musing

The Gunning of America sounds like a very timely book. Hope it will be a worthy read. I started The Nest over the weekend and am loving it.

  • I’ve definitely been contemplating Tuesday Nights; after my City on Fire experience I’m a feeling cautious, but it sounds like a good read. I’ve just started The Throwback Special, thanks to a recommendation by Sarah! I need to work on my list for my reading post-race on Saturday!!

  • I finished Me Before You late last week, and now I’m diving deep into Brandon Sanderson territory – I just picked up the Mistborn trilogy on my husband’s recommendation, and I’m completely engrossed! Not my regularly literary fiction, but I am enjoying it a lot!!

    • Mixing it up with something new is always fun :) And from what I hear you won’t run out of Brandon Sanderson anytime soon!

  • The Gunning is so on my tbr! Haven’t heard of your other two reads, but I love the cover of Dear Fang! I just started A Stranger in Olondria, really liking it so far.

  • The paint job looks great. Sadly, I’m reminded my house needs to be finished as there are several indignant rooms who cry for color. Glad you had some QT reading. It is nice to have some time to one’s self.

    • You’re not alone with your rooms crying for color! This was just one small step :) I think it’s going to take quite some time before we get to the next few.

  • That sounds like a lovely weekend. Thank goodness for quiet days of reading (or watching tv)!

I need to finish Mad Men! Tuesday nights in 1980 sounds intriguing to me.

  • The dining room is gorgeous, well done!
