After (a bit of) a break last week, things are a little less hectic around here. I have a few deadlines to catch up with this week, but then I’m in the clear. So, in general I’m feeling better, but my heart is much heavier after yesterday’s mass shooting in Orlando. I have so much anger and frustration over the fact that I’ve shared similar feelings so often in this blog’s short life, with added sadness for the LGBTQ community. Big giant sigh.
This weekend I finished reading The Long Shadow of Small Ghosts, which was a bit too true crime for me, though I’m glad I gave it a shot. I also decided to pick up This Is Where You Belong by Melody Warnick and, even though I’m just about halfway through, I’m loving so much of it. Next, I’m jumping into Donald Ray Pollock’s The Heavenly Table, but I loved The Devil All the Time so much that I am VERY NERVOUS. Let’s hope this goes well.
